Marigolds at the doorway are one of Diwali’s oldest welcomes. This toran pairs them with pearls. Clusters of yellow and orange crochet marigolds sit along a twisted patti, linked by draped strands of pearls, with small bells and ghungroos hanging beneath. On each side, a tiered strand of marigolds falls down the doorframe. The bells chime gently whenever the door opens. Because the flowers keep their colour, the toran can stay up well beyond the festival, through wedding season and into the next celebration.
